Switzerland 2018. Paramedics at work in Lugano

Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Comano. Paramedics team carry an injured man on an emergency medical stretcher. The man was cutting branches off a tree, fell on the ground and broke his right leg. He is brought to hospital for medical surgery and recovery. Three paramedics wear blue uniforms and work for the Croce Verde Lugano. Both men are professional certified nurses, the woman (R) is a volunteer specifically trained in emergency rescue. The Croce Verde Lugano is a private organization which ensure health safety by addressing different emergencies services and rescue services. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual provides services for no financial or social gain to benefit another person, group or organization.
