Vietnam. Ha Tay province. Restaurant in Lai Xa. On display, a dead cobra in a glass botle. A cobra is a snake, which is a member of the genus Naja, a group of venomous elapids found in Asia. When disturbed, most of these snakes can rear up and spread their neck (or hood) in a characteristic threat display. Lai Xa is a typical hamlet (village) and is part of the Kim Chung commune located 15 km west of Hanoi. 06.04.09 © 2009 Didier Ruef
