Mozambique. Province of Maputo.Manhiça is a small town (80 km north of the capital Maputo). A worker sweeps the floor while the mozambican flag floats in the wind. The town can only be reached by plane. Because of the war between the Government and the rebel of the Frelimo party, the roads are either mined or too dangerous to travel on. The airplane is ran by the non governmental organisation (ngo) Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) of Switzerland which has rehabilitated the local hospital. © 1992 Didier Ruef
